The Raja of Mahmudabad (1914-1973) was the only Treasurer of the All-India Muslim League, as well as the founding President of both its main subsidiary bodies: the Muslim Students Federation, and the Muslim National Guards. The Raja of Mahmudabad financed the Pakistan Movement in large measure and otherwise also played a pivotal role in the attainment of the desired homeland. His prominence during the years leading to independence, and the subsequent disappearance of his name from the Pakistan narrative, mark him out as a unique figure for study. This monograph has been written to mark the Raja’s birth centenary.
